Chives

Close relatives to onions and garlic, chives are a great halfway plant - a bite initially tastes like onions, then finishes with an aroma of garlic. The overall experience is of a subtle, elegant flavouring that pairs well with vegetables and meat alike!

Seeding Instructions - Start indoors in April or seed directly into the garden Mid-May. Seed takes up to 10 days to germinate. Chives like lots of sun and is low-care so is suitable for a bright,  out-of-the-way spot that you may forget to water from time to time!

Growing On & Harvest - You can start harvesting chives when it is 6" tall; typically just cut the whole plant down to a couple inches off the ground and it will regrow with vigour. Feed with veggie food every two weeks and bone meal once a month.
