Spinach Bloomsdale Longstanding
Spinach is so nutrient-packed that it's no wonder it is widely recognized as a superfood. In the garden, it is very easy to grow, is disease and pest-resistant, and matures quickly. Successive seeding spinach will keep you in terrific supply all summer and fall long, it is as wonderful fresh as it is cooked... just keep a mirror handy to check your teeth for green!
Seeding Instructions - Start indoors in late April or plant directly into the garden in May after last frost, can take up to 3 weeks to germinate. Sow seeds around 3" apart in 0.5" deep trenches; cover lightly with soil.
Growing On & Harvest - Spinach doesn't like to dry out too much so keep plants evenly moist. Fertilize with veggie food every two weeks and bone meal once a month. Harvest in approximately 40-50 days.
