Beets Rainbow Blend
This combo of primarily red and golden beet varieties is sure to please any palate. While red beets are known for their earthy flavor that adds substance to any meal, golden beets are sweeter and lend themselves particularly well with glazes. A small amount of seed produces a large harvest as one beet seed can produce 2-3 plants! And don't forget the beet tops - the greens of all colours of beets are simply delicious!
Seeding Instructions - Start indoors in late April or plant directly into a sunny garden in early May, beets can take up to 12 days to germinate. Plant seedlings in rows with 3" between the plants.
Growing On & Harvest - Allow beets to dry slightly between waterings. Fertilize with veggie food every two weeks and bone meal once a month. Harvest in approximately 50-60 days.
